This full day tour offers awesome scenery of mountains, farmlands, fruit orchards, and wonderful ocean views with a visit to the quaint coastal town and Whale capital of S.A .-- Hermanus. -- truly a memorable days outing --- 280kms round trip
Itinerary :
- Thisfull day tour commences at 08h30
- We travel out along the N2 highway towards the majestic Hottentot Holland Mountain range.
- We take in the Apple and Pear orchards of Grabouw and Elgin.
- On over the historic Hoehoek pass and on to Hermanus, located some 120 kms from the City
- Hopefully we will have sightings of Southern Right Whales that travel all the way from the Antarctic, and come close inshore in Walker Bay ( Hermanus is on Walker Bay ) to calve and mate during the period July to November each yea.
- A boat trip to view the whales close up can be arranged.
- We lunch in Hermanus at seaside restaurant at picturesque Grotto Beach.
- After exploring the area, as well as more whale spotting we commence out homeward journey.
- Our return trip takes us along a beautiful coastal drive, through the small villages of Kleinmond, Betty’s Bay, Rooi Els, Gordons Bay and the Strand.
- We rejoin the N2 highway and travel into the City arriving at 17h30.
