Overview
The most Southerly Tip of the African ContinentThis full day Private Tour to Cape Agulhas, the most southerly tip of the African Continent located some two and a half hours drive from the city is where the two great oceans -- the Indian and Atlantic meet. (total the distance covered is roughly 600 kilometres. )
Itinerary :
- This full day tour departs at 07h30
- We travel the N2 highway, out and over the Hottentot Mountains
- We take in the Apple and Pear Orchards of Grabouw and Elgin.
- Travel the Hoehoek pass.
- On through magnificent farm lands and rolling hills to the town of Caledon.
- Our next village is Napier
- Then on through the small town of Bredasdorp
- Not much later we arrive at Cape Agulhas the most Southerly point on the African continent.
- After a visit to the most southerly lighthouse on the continent.
- Then walk onto the rocks, the actual tip of the continent of Africa, for a unique photo opportunity.
- Our return journey takes us to Elim a Moravian Church Mission settlement.
- Gansbaai ( Goose Bay ) a small fishing village and harbour is our next port of call ( Gansbaai area is also very popular for shark cage diving )
- Hermanus is our next town, it is here that we hope to find whales close inshore.
- Our homeward journey takes us along a magnificent coastal drive though Kleinmond, Betty’ Bay, Rooi Els, Gordons Bay and the Strand seaside town.
- We then rejoin the N2and head back to the City.
- Arrival time around 18h00.
