Overview
This full day Private Tour takes in Sir Lowry’s Pass, Viljoens Pass, Franschhoek Pass and Helshoogte Pass, while traveling through some of the most scenic countryside and spectacular mountain scenery that
Cape Tow2n has to offer.
Itinerary :
- Our tour departs at 08h30
- We travel out along the N2 highway towards the magnificent Hottentot Mountain range.
- We visit magnificent Vergelegen and Lourensford Wine Estates in Somerset West.
- Then travel over Sir Lowry’s Pass taking in stunning views of False Bay and surrounds.
- Our next stop is light lunch in the countryside.
- After an interesting country style lunch we head on through Grabouw and Elgin renowned as South Africa’s premier Apple and Pear farming area.
- We travel the Viljoens Mountain Pass and soak in the magnificent views.
- On through beautiful Fruit growing areas to scenic Tierwaterkloof Dam, one of Cape Towns major water supply dams.
- We travel through beautiful mountain scenery to the top of the Franschhoek pass where we stop for a photo opportunity.
- The drive down Franschhoek pass presents us with stunning views of the town and valley below.
- We go walk about in Franschhoek and visit the local “ chocolate” shop.
- The tour continues through beautiful vineyard scenery taking in some superb Cape Dutch architecture.
- Travel over Hellshoogte Pass and on to Stellenbosch, the historic and picturesque oak tree lined University town, the second oldest town in South Africa
- Travel on through scenic Wineland country visiting a couple of excellent Wine Estates en
Route to taste their award winning wines.
- We eventually reach the N1 ( National Highway No1 ) and make our way back to the City.
- If time permits we will stop off at Blouberg, a coastal suburb of Cape Town to soak in the magnificent sight of Table Mountain, the City and Robben Island from across Table Bay.
- We return to the City at around 18h00 .
